BOLT

Bolt was a member of the second generation New Warriors team. He joined during an incident at Long Island’s Genetech Labs. This incident, considered by NW buffs to be the official formation point for the second generation team, ended favorably with few injuries thanks in no small part to Bolt’s presence. Bolt remained a member of the team for several months, eventually fading from the limelight as the team started to drift apart following their reunion with former team leader Night Thrasher. While it is unknown if it was the return of Night Thrasher that caused Bolt to leave, most consider the return of Night Thrasher to be the point at which the second generation team started to fall apart.

Since leaving the Warriors, Bolt has made no public appearances, prompting many to believe that he is no longer among the living. Gossip magazines throughout the New York area insisted that Bolt was a carrier for the Legacy Virus, and while that mutant-killing disease is no longer a threat, it is possible that Bolt succumbed to the disease before its cure was found.

Of course, these same gossip rags intimated that Bolt was gay, and no documented proof of such a revelation has been uncovered by anyone at NWR.

MICROBE

Microbe was one of the last two members to join any official incarnation of the New Warriors. An associate of Night Thrasher’s, Microbe joined the team in its third generation, during the initial planning stages of the first season of New Warriors: Reality Bites, a series looked upon with great trepidation by NWR. If the propaganda disseminated by the show’s production staff is to be believed, Microbe was somehow related to Night Thrasher. Regardless, he was a loyal companion to longtime team members Speedball, Namorita, Nova, and Night Thrasher, helping them bring several criminals to justice over the course of the show’s first season.

Unfortunately, it was while preparing footage for the second season that Microbe and the rest of the then-active Warriors team met their untimely fate at the hands of Captain Marvel-foe Nitro in Stamford Connecticut. Microbe’s friends and family can take great comfort in knowing that in no way can anyone interpret the footage from the production logs to suggest that Microbe was at fault for any of the events that unfolded at Stamford that day. Microbe continued to play the role he had always played in the Warriors, the innocent newcomer, right up to the bitter end.

NAMORITA

Namorita, cousin to the original Sub-Mariner, Namor of Atlantis, was a mainstay of the New Warriors throughout all three of their incarnations. A fiercely loyal and regal soul, Namorita, or Nita as her friends called her, was one of the few Warriors to ever hold a leadership position in the team. Her inherent sense of nobility and her personal code of honor helped her steer the Warriors down the right path for years before she, like so many others, paid the price of Nitro’s villainy with her life.

Namorita was equally at home among the college elite and the underwater folk of Atlantis, and her easy smile will be missed by her friends and family just as much as her steadfast devotion to battling environmental terrorists and other criminals who so often fall beneath the radar of the more prominent super-teams of our age. Namorita was truly an amazing person, and without her our world will always feel just a bit darker.

Some among Nita’s fandom believe there is still hope for her survival; citing references to an interview Nita did in Juice magazine that indicated she was the product of Atlantean cloning technology. If this is the case, and the possibility of a return of our beloved lady Sub-Mariner is indeed within grasp, the people at NWR wish Namorita a speedy recovery and a happy return to the surface world. We have missed you, and we need you.

NIGHT THRASHER

The original team founder and most prolific leader of the Warriors, Night Thrasher met his end while filming footage for the second season of the New Warriors reality television show. He died fighting bravely, as he was always known to do, but Night Thrasher left behind a cloud of unanswered questions.

This man, considered by many to have been equal parts Captain America and Iron Man, rebuilt his team after the core members had drifted apart for a second time, only to enter the team into an unorthodox and highly questionable business agreement to create a reality television show. Rumors persisted that he had become the father of new member Microbe, and the mysterious Taylor Foundation, an organization that had, in the past, been linked to funding several New Warriors missions, went bankrupt and was acquired by the same production company that supervised the New Warriors: Reality Bites television show. What does all this mean?

All we know for sure is that with Night Thrasher gone, there is no one left to answer the many questions that this mysterious, and influential, young man has left behind.

SCARLET SPIDER

Appearing out of nowhere, the man often rumored to have been a clone of New York’s own Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider was only a member of the Warriors for a few short weeks. In that time, he helped thwart the mysterious Eugenix organization and also battled dozens of foes alongside and in the place of Spider-Man. While members of NWR had hoped that, with the revelation of Spider-Man’s secret identity, answers about the true nature and fate of the Scarlet Spider might be made available, Peter Parker’s retreat into the underground has left us with many unanswered questions.

Should Scarlet Spider still remain active, NWR wishes him a safe and successful career.

SPEEDBALL

A founding member of the Warriors and the single longest standing member on any active membership roster, Speedball was considered by many to be the heart and soul of the Warriors. Always smiling and helping others, Speedball was unfairly saddled with the entirety of the blame for the Stamford tragedy whne it was revealed that his powers had prevented the explosion form claiming his life as it had more than 600 others.

Speedball was almost murdered while being brought to trial for his supposed fault in this incident, and with his registration and subsequent disappearance, the New Warriors seem to be disbanded forever. NWR will not give up hope, however. Speedball proved to us that the Warriors were more than a team, they were a family. His life must forever be a legacy to those of us who remember the dream of the Warriors. All they wanted to do was change the world. We must not let the government break us, like they did Speedball. We must keep fighting.

TURBO II

The first member of the team to ever fall, Turbo II was only an occasional team associate, sharing the powerful Turbo armor with the more well-known Turbo I. So much of Turbo II is unknown to us. The only proof we even have that he is dead comes form a brief interview Turbo I gave several months ago when first joining the Los Angeles-based Excelsior super-hero recovery program.

Turbo II was last seen shortly before the New Warriors’ final, climactic battle with the Queen of the Dire Wraiths, Volx. His death may have been the motivation that prompted the team to push harder than they ever had before, coming together after months at one another’s throats and rejoining with Rage and Night Thrasher to save the world one more time.
